For the exhibition POWER OF COPY in the Xuzhou Museum of Art (China) I have my ‘Nature Morte’ painting copied. The original painting, a copy of a Dutch still life with flowers, I bought two years ago in Xiamen (China). Now I have my edited version of this painting photographed and send it to Xiamen to have it ‘copied’. Seventeenth-century flower still lifes are a symbol of decay. But by looking at the Chinese copies of these paintings this motif is placed in another time.
